Hiii, I'm Taylor!

You know that phrase ‘don’t overthink it’? Well, I don’t follow that rule, I definitely am going to overthink it - and for your photos, that’s a good thing.

I’ll tell you why.

One thing I’ve noticed from being behind the lens of the camera is that being in front of it can be overwhelming. Most people get a little shy or nervous, which can lead to photos that look and feel forced. Not exactly what we’re going for here, am I right?

That’s okay, and know that you don’t have to be stressed with me behind the camera. I’m here to make sure you look your absolute best. You’re trusting me to photograph some of the important moments in your life and I take that very seriously. Let me do all the overthinking of the locations, spots, angles, and poses. All you have to do is smile and have fun–I’ll do the rest.

I am a big sucker for nature and trees. I’ll always be looking for a tree tunnel or pretty sky and will always be sure to voice it when I find one that’s just too pretty.

I always order an iced coffee, no matter the weather - an iced mocha is my go to coffee.

One of the things I get the most excited about is travel and new adventures. Dublin, Ireland is one of my favorite cities.

One Tree Hill is one of my favorite shows and I have watched it through in full at least 10 times.

Where it all started...

I have been around photography since I was little. When my family would go on vacations, a camera was never far away. We took photos of everything from scenery to our family adventures. I quickly learned how valuable those photos were, because they allowed me to look back on those memories and reminisce on the moments we experienced while we were there.

In 2015, I was a sophomore at Edinboro University. I had just made the switch from the Education field to Communication Studies - essentially I went from structured to.. well.. not at all. And now I had all these choices. But I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had gotten a Nikon for Christmas that year, and in true newbie fashion, I had NOT A CLUE how to use it. I practiced taking photos (so many photos) with friends.

Where it all started...

I knew I wanted to learn to use that camera. I’m nothing if not determined, friend. I wanted to learn my camera (as I just said), but also wanted to explore the options available to me within the Communication field. Lucky for me, I have family in the creative industry and I was able to spend a month with them to experience all the things. — okay, not ALL the things, but you get my point. I attended a weeklong workshop through Maine Media College & Workshops where I spent a full week learning the basics of my camera.

One of the most memorable experiences from that week was walking through Joyce Tenneson’s gallery and getting the amazing opportunity to meet and listen to her talk about the behind the scenes of one of her most iconic photos. **fun fact: it’s the cover of the book The Dovekeepers**. She explained the importance of and meaning of one shot and it’s a conversation that I still think about to this day.

The workshop allowed me to experience all of the different kinds of photography, but I was most drawn to portraits. In 2016, I worked with my first group of high school seniors, helping them to celebrate their biggest milestone yet in graduating high school. That same year, I also photographed my first wedding.

Both of these experiences were so profound for me because I have always had a heart for connection. Working with seniors, couples, and newlyweds alike allowed me the opportunity to not only create lasting memories, but also to celebrate with them through some of the most important moments of their lives.

Photography is special for me and I am passionate about it because it allows me to help you connect with some of the things I value most: meaning, feelings, and emotion.

' Taylor has a way of making a person feel comfortable in their skin and that shows through her work. ''

“If you’re anything like me, you can relate to the intense feelings, the ones that rush through your body so quickly, increasing anxiety and fear because all attention is going to be on you. Taylor has a way of making a person feel comfortable in their skin and that shows through her work. There have been moments in which Taylor has captured the entire and pure essence of my soul in just one shot. She brings a light heart to all sessions and she provides feedback. She does well with making any tension you feel dissipate and makes the sessions fun and energetic. Taylor has an eye for things that most people are not able to see and that shines in the magic of the final product of everything she captures.”

“I have had the opportunity to work with Taylor on several different occasions. My fiance and I have had two separate photoshoots of us with our puppy and I have also attended a wedding in which Taylor was the photographer. At each event, Taylor was just wonderful! She is always so energetic and present, which allowed her to capture all special moments throughout the day/event. She is always thinking of new and fun ways to get the most out of each photo. During our private shoot, she had so many different ideas for photos and they all came out beautiful!
